As we round the corner into winter in Pittsburgh, nothing could be more heartwarming that a generous showing of support from people who love our city’s riverfronts.
In the tradition of post-Thanksgiving Black Friday, which led to the creation of Cyber Monday, now there’s Giving Tuesday. The Tuesday after Thanksgiving has shaped up to be a massive day of fundraising across the United States. Here in Pittsburgh, nonprofits throughout the city came together under the umbrella of #GiveBigPittsburgh on Tuesday, November 28, which encouraged generous Pittsburghers to support their favorite causes.
Riverlife received $3,231 from generous donors throughout the day, with big gifts and little ones, from many first-time givers. We really enjoyed seeing the donations roll in while connecting with riverfront enthusiasts on social media. This community support helps us lead the daily charge to make Pittsburgh’s riverfronts cleaner, safer and more fun for everyone.
The staff of Riverlife heartily thanks you and our community of supporters, and extends our congratulations to the long list of Pittsburgh nonprofits who also saw great fundraising successes yesterday! Nearly $1.4 million was raised by 6,341 donors for 492 nonprofits.
Still feeling generous? Though Giving Tuesday may be over, you can always make a donation to Riverlife right here. Thanks!
