Riverlife was pleased to host families and friends from the Hello Neighbor program for a boat ride on the Gateway Clipper on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
Hello Neighbor works to improve the lives of refugees and immigrants in Pittsburgh by matching them with dedicated neighbors to guide and support them in their new lives.
The afternoon was sunny and beautiful and we loved seeing the smiles of the Hello Neighbor participants who had never been on a Pittsburgh river cruise!
During the tour we passed by Riverlife’s “to be determined” pop-up art gallery under the Fort. Duquesne Bridge, featuring photos of Syrian refugee families taken by Pittsburgh-based photographer Maranie Staab. We were honored to have Maranie on board the boat with us, taking the wonderful pictures you see in our Facebook gallery.
