Riverlife is pleased to welcome Sarah Spiegel as our new Development Manager!
Sarah brings over ten years of experience in the nonprofit sector with a focus in education, human services, and the arts. She’s worked with the University of Pittsburgh and Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, and has advised dozens of large and small nonprofits in fundraising.
In her new role, Sarah will oversee capacity-building functions, helping connect to riverfront users to build a strong financial base of support for Riverlife’s work to create, activate, and celebrate Pittsburgh’s riverfronts.
She joins the team in 2021 after working with Riverlife as an independent contractor for the past several years. During that time, Riverlife increased donor support across all levels and conducted an in-depth development assessment to map the future of support for our work.
We asked her what drew her to the full-time Development Manager opportunity:
“I’ve been with Riverlife since June 2018 in an augmented development staff role. We all know that 2020 was a difficult year for everyone and many of our organizations,” she said. “But in the middle of cascading crises, Riverlife thrived because the leadership at both the staff and board level is strong. They met every challenge with creativity and collaboration in a way I found inspiring. So this year I am really excited to formally join the team at Riverlife and look forward to what lies ahead.”
You’ll be seeing a lot more of Sarah in 2021 as our team works to build a movement of support for Riverlife’s #CompletingTheLoop initiative and other projects to improve and expand Pittsburgh’s riverfront experience. Find out more about Sarah here.
