Mon Wharf Switchback ramp construction nears completion

By September 6, 2018Blog
Habitat landscaping is underway along the riverfront under the upriver side of the ramp.

We’re getting close! The Mon Wharf Switchback construction is moving toward completion. Final work is being done this month on new habitat landscaping, electrical connections, and paving on the wharf around the base of the ramp and  around the new kayak launch.

The Switchback is a project in partnership between the City of Pittsburgh and Riverlife, and will be owned and operated by the city. While completion of this project is still at the mercy of the weather and other outdoor conditions, we hope to have a public opening date to share with you very soon.

Also, an important reminder that the Mon Wharf Switchback site is an active construction site and no trespassing is allowed; for your own safety and the safety of the authorized personnel working at the site, please keep off the site until the ramp is officially open for public use.
