Riverlife thanks everyone who made submissions to Riverlife’s ‘to be determined’ Request for Qualifications for the 2018 temporary riverfront installation under the Fort Duquesne Bridge between Point State Park and the Cultural District. We received 56 submissions and have selected three semi-finalists.
The three semi-finalists have been notified and will be publicly announced in January. Each will be awarded $5,000 to develop a design concept for the riverfront space under the bridge after a community engagement process. One winner will be selected and awarded $60,000 to finalize the design concept, purchase materials, and install the project in June 2018.
Riverlife and the jury were impressed by the volume, quality and creativity of the submissions, which made the job of selecting three semi-finalists very difficult. The jury is comprised of representatives who have expertise in temporary activation, public art, programming, community engagement, urban design, and riverfront amenities.
Please stay tuned as we publicly announce the three semi-finalists in January, along with details on how you can get involved in the community engagement process for the next big idea under the Fort Duquesne Bridge.
