20+ Riverlife Volunteers Requested for Redbud Tree Planting

You may have heard about the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy’s Redbud Project, which includes Riverlife as a proud supporting partner. Hundreds of native redbud trees were planted last year along the city’s riverfronts to create a beautiful burst of color this spring and for many years to come.

The work’s not over yet. More trees are being planted right now to increase the project’s impact, and we need your help! Grab a team of friends or coworkers and help make your mark on Pittsburgh’s riverfronts. Details below:

Location: 4th Street Trailhead, South Side [map]. Free parking available!
Partners: Friends of the Riverfront/Western PA Conservancy/Riverlife
Type of Work: Redbud Tree Planting! Plant trees near the riverbanks that burst with red color in early spring. We’ll be planting trees, putting supports in, mulching, etc.
Extra Stuff: This is our flagship volunteer event for the spring and we could really use your help! Great Lakes Brewing Company has sponsored post-volunteering libations!
