Riverlife is accepting proposals for West End Bridge Access Structures, due May 30
Riverlife is pleased to invite you to submit a response to this Request for Proposals (RFP). The services to be performed, project site, timeline, and expected budget are outlined below. Riverlife may select one or more Consultants to provide the services outlined in this RFP.
About the West End Bridge
The West End Bridge is the first crossing over the Ohio River just downstream from the City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The bridge is the western-most portion of a 15-mile loop of trails and open spaces around Pittsburgh’s downtown. This key effort is part of a larger project which aims to connect the West End and Manchester communities to each other, the waterfront and the City of Pittsburgh. Riverlife is seeking proposals for the design and engineering of three access structures to make accessible connections from the bridge to the river and adjacent neighborhoods.

Experience Required
A demonstrated efficiency in delivering projects similar to the scope proposed in the RFP, including, but not limited to, demolition, Structural, Geotechnical, Traffic, Environmental, Electrical, Civil, Engineering, and coordination with public and private entities.
These structures, while functional, also need to celebrate the unique aspects of the bridge, surrounding communities, and adjacent landscapes. Riverlife recognizes that there are other non-traditional disciplines that have historically provided creative direction on extremely successful projects of similar scope around the world. We would strongly encourage respondents to include artists, landscape architects, architects and/or other creative professionals on their teams, or for creative professionals to respond to this RFP as long as other required professions are included as part of their assembled contract team.
