We’re excited to announce our Party at the Pier: Return to the River Portraits contest winners!

Throughout our official contest period, we received 125 photos featuring over 300 Pittsburghers (and more than a few dogs) showcasing their style and talent at their favorite riverfront locations. Choosing winners was incredibly tough; please check out all our photos submissions in the full online gallery at partyatthepier.com.

Earlier this week, our judges Alexis Allen, Chief Planner from Shayla Hawkins Events, and Aradhna Oliphant, President and CEO of Leadership Pittsburgh, selected the winners of our four themed categories: Posh Pose, Picture-Perfect Picnic, Pet Portrait, and Physical Feat.

  • “Picture Perfect Picnic” category winner: Stephen Fowler, “Dining With Friends,” winning a $100 gift certificate from DiAnoia’s Restaurant and eight tickets to a Gateway Clipper Three Rivers Sightseeing Cruise
  • “Physical Feat” category winner: Maya Haptas, “Amber Gedman at Point State Park,” (shown at top) winning a pair of Apple AirPods with charging case and eight tickets to a Gateway Clipper Three Rivers Sightseeing Cruise
  • “Pet Portrait” category winner: Liz Grand, “River Gaze”, winning a $100 gift certificate from Petagogy pet supply store and eight tickets to a Gateway Clipper Three Rivers Sightseeing Cruise
  • “Posh Pose” category winner: Suzanne Mauro,”Hopeful,” winning three jewelry pieces from Sabika, a $50 gift certificate from big Burrito restaurants, and eight tickets to a Gateway Clipper Three Rivers Sightseeing Cruise

And finally, our Grand Prize Drawing winner, selected at random by our president and CEO Matt Galluzzo live on the “Alone Together” web show on Friday, August 28, is Ryan Tingle. Our grand prize drawing includes a two-night staycation at the luxury Fairmont Hotel, a $100 food and beverage credit at the Fairmont Pittsburgh restaurants, and 20 tickets to a Wine Tasting Cruise on the Gateway Clipper Fleet.

Thank you to everyone who submitted photos and made generous donations to our fundraiser. Because of your support and the support of our sponsors, including our title sponsor PNC, we were able to raise over $129,000 for Riverlife’s work to create, activate, and celebrate Pittsburgh’s riverfronts, connecting people through exceptional places and experiences!

Stay tuned for more information about Riverlife’s Party at the Pier 2021 as we continue to create a movement of support for Pittsburgh’s riverfronts.
