Committee will conduct nationwide search for new President and CEO
Thomas F. Lamb, Jr., Chair of the Riverlife board of directors, announced today that Jay Sukernek has been appointed by the board to serve as Acting Director, effective immediately, until a permanent President and Chief Executive Officer is selected. Sukernek is currently Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Riverlife and has been with the organization since March 2010. Former President Elisabeth M. Schroeder departed Riverlife this month to assume a new position at the Parks & People Foundation in Baltimore.
A management oversight committee has been established by Riverlife’s board to work with the staff during this interim period. According to Lamb, a search committee has been formed and conducted its first meeting last week. The search committee anticipates a nationwide search to fill the position. “We are confident this process will yield a candidate who has the skills and leadership experience necessary to implement our exciting vision for Pittsburgh’s riverfronts,” said Mr. Lamb.
