Pittsburgh Riverfronts

Strip District Riverfront Park

The vision for Strip District Riverfront Park focuses on the Allegheny riverfront between 11th Street near the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and the 31st Street Bridge, and calls for improvements to and an extension of the existing Three Rivers Heritage Trail, new stopping points along the trail for recreation and relaxation, and public amenities to help create a destination riverfront.

Development

Building on the momentum of real estate development in Pittsburgh’s bustling Strip District neighborhood and the ongoing redevelopment of the city’s downtown riverfronts, Riverlife and a coalition of public and private partners worked together to create a vision plan for expanding public open space and amenities along the Allegheny Riverfront. The plan was released to the public over the spring of 2016. Coordinating planning and implementation with Strip riverfront stakeholders is underway.
