Pat KellyDirector of Programs

As Director of Programs, Pat Kelly (he/him) oversees all Riverlife programming, including Riverlife’s UpKeep care and maintenance initiative. He also contributes to the development and management of new riverfront amenities throughout the Loop, collaborating with public and private partners to ensure Pittsburgh’s riverfront spaces are clean, welcoming, and accessible for all. Pat joined Riverlife in 2024 after returning to Pittsburgh following nearly fifteen years in New York City.

Prior to Riverlife, Pat served as Director of Concessions with the Prospect Park Alliance, the nonprofit that operates Brooklyn’s flagship park. During his eleven years with the Alliance, he managed operations at some of Prospect Park’s most beloved destinations, expanding the park’s range of amenities and championing public spaces that are inclusive and vibrant. He brings extensive experience developing amenities and events, maintaining busy public spaces, and building strong partnerships with vendors and contractors.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pat is passionate about the city’s rivers and trails, which he first explored as a high school rower. He is inspired by Riverlife’s mission to care for the city’s riverfronts and create spaces that welcome everyone. A musician for nearly two decades, Pat enjoys spending time outdoors, engaging with nature, and contributing to the civic life of his hometown.
