Diamen Green (she/they) is Riverlife’s Program Coordinator. In this role, they create and facilitate vibrant riverfront programming that celebrates community, inspires creativity, and creates connection. Diamen helps organize Riverlife’s annual Chalk Fest, Shore Thing programming, and other public events. Diamen joined Riverlife’s team in 2024.
Diamen has spent more than a decade working with nonprofits focused on youth development, community empowerment, educational equity, and the arts. She has held roles with organizations including The Heinz Endowments, Children’s Defense Fund, and Housing Opportunities Unlimited. At Housing Opportunities Unlimited, Diamen helped pilot “STEAM Saturdays in the Hill District.” As a lifelong Pittsburgher and single parent to a nature-loving son, Diamen works to make the riverfronts more accessible and inclusive, especially for families like hers. She believes the rivers can become spaces where future generations can thrive.
In addition to her work at Riverlife, Diamen enjoys traveling, cooking, and cultural storytelling. She is also completing her Raja Yoga teacher certification, with a focus on mindfulness and ancestral wellness rooted in Black cultural traditions. One of Diamen’s favorite spots along the Loop is South Shore Riverfront Park, where city and nature meet.
