Diamen Green (she/they) is Riverlife’s Program Coordinator, where they bring people together through vibrant programming that celebrates community, creativity, and connection to place. Whether organizing large-scale public events or intimate neighborhood gatherings, they ensure Pittsburgh’s riverfronts are places of joy, belonging, and possibility.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Diamen was drawn to Riverlife’s mission of making the riverfronts more accessible and inclusive—especially for families like hers. As a single parent to a nature-loving son, she sees this work as a form of legacy-building, creating spaces where future generations can thrive. “Watching my son grow into someone who’s inspired by the world around him makes me believe that all of us can change, heal, and thrive.”
Before joining Riverlife in 2024, Diamen spent more than a decade working with nonprofits focused on youth development, community empowerment, educational equity, and the arts. She has held roles with organizations including the Heinz Endowments, the Children’s Defense Fund, and the University of Pittsburgh, where she helped pilot STEAM Saturdays in the Hill District—one of her proudest achievements.
In addition to her work at Riverlife, Diamen is the founder of Diam’s Diner, a catering business centered on nourishment, cultural storytelling, and healing. She is also completing her Raja Yoga teacher certification, with a focus on mindfulness and ancestral wellness rooted in Black cultural traditions. Her favorite spot along the river? The quiet, tree-lined trails of Frick Park and the South Shore Riverfront—where city and nature meet.
