Crystal WittCommunity Engagement Coordinator

Crystal Witt (she/they) is Riverlife’s Community Engagement Coordinator, where she ensures that community voices are centered in the design and care of Pittsburgh’s riverfronts. Through public education and outreach, Crystal helps residents of all ages understand the impact of green spaces, outdoor recreation, clean water, and climate resilience.

Crystal joined Riverlife in November 2024 after more than fifteen years working in environmental education, government, and nonprofit roles. Her career began as a Park Ranger providing environmental education with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and has included roles at State Parks, museums, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

An avid cyclist and advocate for sustainable living, she’s particularly excited about Riverlife’s work around the West End Bridge—bringing better, safer access to neighborhoods like her own. She is also a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional and Certified Interpretive Guide. She serves on the boards of the Outdoor Inclusion Coalition and Pittsburgh’s Women’s Wellness Drum Circle. Outside of Riverlife, Crystal can be found working at her home pottery studio or leading drum circles all over Western Pennsylvania.
