About Us

As Donor Relations and Annual Giving Specialist, Alyx Bean (she/her) supports Riverlife’s annual fundraising and stewardship program to benefit Pittsburgh’s riverfronts. Alyx joined Riverlife’s staff in 2023 and leads the organization’s annual and monthly giving programs.  She also enjoys helping plan Riverlife’s annual Party at the Pier event, bringing Riverlife’s biggest celebration of Pittsburgh’s rivers to life. Alyx has a BA in Arts Administration from Elon University with a focus on nonprofit management.

Prior to joining Riverlife’s team, Alyx was the Senior Sales Manager for Special Events at the Columbus Museum of Art, where she spent five years overseeing the creative public use of venue spaces and overseeing all bookings for a revenue budget of over $2.5 million. She was also a graduate of Leadership Columbus’s 2022 class. An outdoors enthusiast, she spent extensive time volunteering with Blue Heron Nature Preserve, aiding in trail maintenance and clean waterway projects.

During her free time, Alyx enjoys biking along Pittsburgh’s riverfronts, where the terrain is flat and open, and full of natural wonder. She appreciates how Riverlife’s commitment to public riverfront spaces forms an invitation that welcomes everyone to gather and enjoy our region’s scenic beauty.
