Party at the Pier War of the Roses

Party at the Pier is presented by PNC

Party at the Pier War of the Roses illustrationIs it War of the Roses or War of the Rosés? We’ll let you decide as you sample dueling sips of rosé, summertime’s favorite wine, while donning your finest rose-colored party attire.

Party at the Pier: War of the Roses is Riverlife’s annual fundraiser gala, celebrating our good fight to make Pittsburgh’s riverfronts cleaner, safer and more fun for everyone!

Friday, August 25 at the North Shore Amphitheater at Rivers Casino
6:30-7:30 pm VIP Royal Reception (Exclusive to VIP ticketholders)
7:30-11:00 pm The Main Event for all ticketholders

  • Featuring rosé tastings and rosé-inspired food and cocktails
  • Vote for your favorites throughout the night as our culinary teams and bartenders battle it out
  • Enjoy romantic voyages on the Gateway Clipper Fleet and royally entertaining music and surprises

What to Wear:

The suggested dress code is semi-formal attire appropriate for an outdoor cocktail party. We encourage everyone to dress in shades of pink to match the “War of the Roses” theme, which is a nod to the noble fight to reclaim, restore and promote Pittsburgh’s riverfronts…and the Rosé wine tastings throughout the evening.

(And yes: should you choose to wear them, high heels are acceptable since most of the event takes place on solid ground!)

Eat, Drink and Be Merry!

TABLE Magazine has written an enticing preview of the food and drink at Party at the Pier. Guests will receive a ballot upon arrival and can choose to sample three rosés and three rosé-inspired cocktails. Guests will mark their favorites and return their ballots to the box near the dancefloor by 10:30 pm.

VIP Rosé spotlight: JCB No. 5 Rosé, Côtes de Provence, 2014. Presented exclusively during our VIP Royal Reception, VIP ticketholders will enjoy this delicious selection from the renowned Jean-Charles Boisset. Featuring delicate scents of red berries, citrus and spicy white blossoms, JCB No. 5 also pays tribute to the classic Chanel No. 5 fragrance with the look and shape of its distinctive bottle.

Your kingdom awaits.

Doors open for the VIP Royal Reception at 6:30 pm; doors open for The Main Event (all ticketholders) at 7:30 pm.

The ticket check-in tent and entrance to Party at the Pier are located outside on the eastern end of the Rivers Casino building near the valet drop-off. Guests self-parking in the garage who take the building’s elevators down to the casino gaming floor will exit the casino through the front doors and follow the sidewalk to the right.

Please be advised that traffic on the North Shore may be heavy near Casino Drive as you approach the Rivers Casino building. Please allow extra time to arrive and enjoy strolling the North Shore before the event doors open!

Once you have your ticket scanned at the check-in tent near the valet drop-off, you will walk across the sidewalk across the grassy area to the east of the casino to the top of the riverfront ramp and down to the boat dock where the party begins.  Please use caution on this sidewalk – it is part of an active trail system used by many cyclists and pedestrians.

Guests with wheelchairs and/or mobility considerations: please inform a volunteer at check-in and you will be shown to an accessible entrance.
