Jay joined Riverlife as Chief Financial Officer in March 2010, was appointed Vice President in July 2013 and was named Acting Director in January 2015. Since joining Riverlife, Jay has been responsible for coordinating all facets of business operations and administration, including financial budgeting and reporting, as well as day-to-day management of various capital projects representing over $50 million of investment. In addition to this administrative role, Jay has been responsible for managing and coordinating relationships with private sector stakeholders and staff and elected officials in the public sector at the local, state and federal level to facilitate funding and policy matters which involves identifying funding opportunities, synching public policy initiatives with Riverlife’s mission and leading efforts to lobby elected officials.

Most recently, Jay was responsible for working with the Remaking Cities Institute of Carnegie Mellon University to complete Riverlife’s 2014-2023 Strategic Plan that outlines the programmatic, outreach, development and business goals for the organization. This work is the framework for Riverlife’s annual budgeting and operations plan which Jay is responsible for preparing and monitoring progress towards completion.

Prior to joining Riverlife, Jay was a Senior Audit Manager at Schneider Downs & Co., Inc. where he was a member of both the nonprofit and construction industry groups and his responsibilities included the execution of audit, review and compilation engagements for a broad base local and national clients. Jay also gained experience performing special projects for clients including internal control and operational reviews, litigation support and cash flow projections.

A native of Pittsburgh, Jay received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. Jay’s previous involvement in the community included serving on the Audit and Finance Committee of Animal Friends, Inc. and as a member of the Young Constructors group of the Master Builders Association. Currently, Jay serves on the Alumni Recruitment Committee for the University of Richmond and the Richmond Spiders in Pittsburgh Alumni Group. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Upper St. Clair Athletic Association and chairs the Community Relations Committee and he is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.
